1.0 PURPOSE

This procedure describes personnel management including personnel qualification, job
description, orientation, training, competency assessment, review of staff performance,
continuing education and professional development of laboratory personnel in Disease
Sector.

2.0 SCOPE

This procedure applies to management of all personnel in Disease Sector, Makmal
Kesihatan Awam Kota Bharu

3.0 REFERENCE

4.0 DEFINITION

4.1 Internal training : Training organized by MKAKB for laboratory personnel
which includes orientation, competency assessment, in-
house training and continuous education.

4.2 External training : Training such as seminar, workshop, conference, user
meeting and attachment organized by external
agencies.

4.3 Competence : Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge and skills.

4.4 Personnel : People employed in an organization or place of work.
